This year we flew to Calgary and rented a car for a week. We took it easy, staying 2 nights at Brooks, 2 nights at Drumheller, 2 nights at Red Deer, and one night at Rocky Mountain House.
We were a little disappointed with the weather because we had 2-3 days with some rain - and on the last day it was very cold with a strong wind.
Some of the highlights I'll remember are:
the gravel road to the Finnigan's Ferry
farms - canola, beef cattle, hay - with electric poles and oil pumps on them.
long straight roads as far as we could see
the bad lands
the Brooks Aquaduct
the lovely Red Deer city hall garden
the never ending cars at the Brooks Tim Horton's
